Data analysts wanted

The Tropical Biology Association requires data analysts (two in Kenya, and two in Nigeria) to join a new project aimed at improving the use of citizen science data in decision making in East and West Africa, and funded by a grant from the Darwin Initiative of the UK government.
The Data Analysts’ core duty will be to produce scientifically-defensible outputs from bird mapping data. Expected outputs include – but are not limited to – species trend analyses, distribution analysis, and maps. These outputs are needed to provide evidence of current and past species distribution, and help tell compelling stories about what is happening to birds (in space and time) in the face of changing climate and land use. These outputs are desired to guide management decision that benefit people and nature.

Recruitment will be on-going in Kenya and Nigeria until suitable candidates are found. However, we expect the process to be complete by 31 August 2023.

The Tropical Biology Association is grateful for the continued partnership with the Kenya Bird Map and the Nigerian Bird Atlas Project, both of which involve several affiliate institutions in each country. The project is funded by the UK Government through the Darwin Initiative.
