Building The Capacity Of Scientists In Africa
Specialist Course
There is a real appetite to use citizen science for advocacy to save Africa’s immense biodiversity wealth. However, update is hindered by a lack of capacity to effectively manage citizen science projects, and to translate citizen science data into effective decisions and actions. Building the capacity of scientists in Africa is therefore paramount if their citizen science projects are to succeed and benefit people and biodiversity.
The TBA held its first workshop in April 2019 in response to this capacity gap training 22 conservation managers on how to analyze and interpret citizen science data. This second workshop will give participants an opportunity to gain and share skills, knowledge and experiences in managing their citizen science projects while also providing an opportunity to present results.
