A TBA training course in May will boost the impact of conservation in Ethiopia.

Spreading the word about success stories to stakeholders is a challenge that many conservation organisations face. Raising awareness, influencing behaviour, and informing policy are critical activities in conservation, all of which require skills beyond project design and management.

To meet this challenge, the Tropical Biology Association through funding from The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) will run a 4 day course for CEPF grantees in Ethiopia. The event will be held at Ethiopia Red Cross Training Institute in Addis Ababa, where 17 grantees will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them communicate the importance and impact of their projects

TBA has a successful record of running effective tailor made courses which cover a broad range of training needs for conservation professionals. This training will not only enable the grantees to communicate and promote the success of their projects but also raise the profile of CEPF’s mission in Ethiopia and the Eastern Afromontane Hotspot, namely to enable civil society to have a more prominent role into driving development in a more biodiversity-friendly direction.

This will be done by sharing solutions that underpin better policies for sustainable living for the long term benefit of people and biodiversity. Both TBA and CEPF will provide trainers for the course while guest speakers, will be invited to enrich the course content as well as share real life experiences.
